Think Twice

Photo not mine
Are you compromising? Doing it your way? Insisting your own timeline? Well... Think twice!

“Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”
Proverbs 19:20-21 ESV

Never Give Up

Today, during Leaders Huddle with Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) students, we've shared our highlights and low moments for the week. After hearing from everyone, we all agreed that God's message for the team is "Never Give Up!".

Aside from the team's visions and objectives, we have our individual goals too. Each of us may be facing different temptations and challenges everyday yet God is ever faithful and patient that He even encouraged us not to quit. We were reminded to fix our eyes on Jesus and throw off anything that can distract and stop us to succeed.

Before we ended in prayer, this verse came to mind,

2 Corinithians 12: 8-9 (NLT)
Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

We can continue and not give up because God is there, He is enough to keep us going. His grace is all we needOnce we become humble to accept our weaknesses and surrender all our struggles to God, He becomes our strength. His power works best in us as we depend on Him. There is indeed no reason to give up!

Be Still

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” (Psalms 46:10 NLT)

May this verse be an encouragement to all! He's asking us to keep the faith and not be shaken. God is in control!

Thank You, Lord! You are amazing! Another Blessed Day for us! :)

All About Him

A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense. (Proverbs 19:11 NIV)

I believe all of us needs to be reminded of this verse. These two - being impatient and being sensitive - are most likely being used by the enemy to attack us. As soon as we feel these, everything else becomes blurry, unstable, and out of control.

Let's ask God everyday for wisdom on how to become patient and ask for outpouring grace not to get offended!

It is not about us anyway, it is all about God. His plans, His will, His glory.

Keep On Dreaming

Reminder For The Day!

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". (Jeremiah 29:11)

This verse has somewhat became a cliche to most people. But this morning, it gave another meaning to me and some friends. As I was asking God for a Word that I could share to the LifeBox Caloocan staff, God impressed this verse to me including this question - Have you guys stopped dreaming after hearing your call?

We all have our own specific calling (aside from our general call to share the gospel). For us in LifeBox, it is to go full-time in the ministry of reaching the next generation for Christ. For some, it could be working in the corporate world and be a living testimony of God's love to his colleagues, or maybe to manage his own business and be a channel of God's blessings to other people. I'm sure there's a long list for that. Yet, once we get to know what our calling is, what do we do next? Of course, we will do our best to fulfill our call, then what?

Let us be reminded to keep on dreaming. As what it says in Jeremiah, God has great plans ahead of us. He has plans to prosper us so we keep on going. We don't stop dreaming. We should continue dreaming big not just for ourselves but also for our families, our friends, our colleagues and for everyone around us. Let us all be excited and hopeful for that promised future which He has planned for us! :)

Not Alone

Reminder For The Day!

“The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name." (Exodus 15:2, 3 NIV)

We don't fight alone. God fights with us that's why we are secured and confident that we will win every battle and every challenge which tries to stop us from living a victorious life.

Abundant Life

Reminder For The Day

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (John 10:10 ESV)

Let's not allow the enemy to distract us and steal our joy. Let's declare God's power over our lives instead, and fight for His great plans for us!  Good night! God loves us no matter what!

Purpose

I was chatting with a friend few hours ago and as we were discussing about issues and disagreements in life and Church, he asked me, "Kayo po, what is your purpose bilang Christian??? pwede po bang malaman" ("How about you, May I know your purpose as a Christian?").

That question made me wonder and ask other friends this survey question, "What is your purpose as a person/ Christian?" (around 2 'til 3 in the morning via Facebook, Yahoo Messenger & SMS). Some chose not to answer, some said that their brain is not functioning anymore, some said they're busy and some took my question seriously. With their permission, I'm sharing their answers here:

Sarah Abigail: "mainly to make sure other people know about God and what Jesus did."

Jay Primo: "live, be a role model in a good way."

Amanda: "Hmm... I'm not a hundred percent sure on what my PURPOSE is. I never thought about it really. I just know I have goals and that I want to see them through."

Dennis: "ahmmmm... to love & be loved."

Gold: "First thing that came to mind is my role in this life. I know that I am being prepared to put up a school one day. To serve in the field of education with high hopes of contributing higher level of learning for our children. In the process, there are a lot of situation where unknowingly my weaknesses and strengths inspire people. I just try to walk with my faith all the time."
Additonal comment: "Nobody have asked me that question before..."

Jay: "To be used by God as a blessing... one way or another."

Fhe: "Practically as a normal person iisipin mo to have a normal life, simple lang, basta masaya. To help, to be good and syempre makilala mo na may Diyos. Mahirap mabuhay ng walang takot sa Diyos. For sure nagkagulo na mundo." ("Practically as a normal person you will think of having a normal life, simple yet happy. To help, to be good and of course to know that there is God. It's hard to live without fear in God. For sure it'll be a chaotic world.")

Ryan: "hmm... To love and serve the Lord."

Debbie: "To be able to use my abilities/ talent/ resources to help others and be a blessing as well."

Peter: "A person to direct them on what needs to be done at work and in life; as a Christian, to lead them to God towards the right way, to the truth and to the life."

Of course, before asking them, I first gave an answer to my friend's question.

Joice: "Ay ako? (Oh, me?) My purpose as a Christian is to honor God in everything I do and to spread the gospel to others. The good news that God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die for all my sins and resurrected to give me salvation. That's my main purpose so pag may mga kaguluhan sa paligid ko na hindi ko maintindihan at mga argumento sa paligid... I always go back to my purpose. (That's my main purpose so if there's any conflicts and arguments which I don't understand... I always go back to my purpose.)"

How about you? Care to share your purpose?

This Bible verse might help you answer... Romans 11:36 - For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.

Young Women On The Journey

I usually read a story or 2 before going to bed as part of my Daily Devotion/ Quiet Time with God. Most of the stories really touched me as I always ask God to speak to me through the stories I read and Bible verses linked to them.

This book is a compilation of Testimonies of young women & their journey through life. There are a total of 77 stories and I've already read 53 of them. I recommend this book to all ladies (and gentlemen)... Discover the questions that these young women have asked, and find answers for your own.

I'm sharing this passage from one of the stories I recently read from this book. That night, I prayed and asked God to open my heart for whatever HE wants to tell me (as I always do)... and when I started reading, I was overwhelmed and so touched with HIS message...

"I realized that all the success in the world is meaningless if it bears no eternal value. Now I have just one simple desire: to love God and spend my entire life loving Him by ministering to other people, whatever it takes." - Jodi Darcen (one of the contibutors).

Proverbs 31:29 says, "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all."

God bless us all! :)
